72 years ago, to the day, the atomic bomb launched on men was dropped over Hiroshima (Japan). 80,000 people were killed instantly.
It is August 6, 1945. It is 8:15 am when an American bomber drops "Little Boy" (little boy, in French). The bomb explodes into a devastating fireball: 80,000 people are killed in just a few seconds in Hiroshima (Japan).

More than 250,000 dead
In the middle of the war against Japan, US President Harry Truman decides to drop the first atomic bomb in history to bring down the enemy. Three days later, on August 9, 1945, a second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. In total, the two explosions make more than 250,000 dead. The country will capitulate on September 2, 1945, the date that marks the end of the Second World War.
Sunday, August 6, 2017, will commemorate the 72 years of Hiroshima to never forget the horrors of nuclear weapons.
