Baraka - Full documentary

Baraka is a documentary film, without commentary, directed by Ron Fricke and released in 1992. His music includes pieces by Michael Stearns and Dead Can Dance. Baraka deepens themes dear to Ron Fricke also explored in Chronos, released in 1985, and in the film Samsara, released in 2011. The film alternates sequences showing natural landscapes and religious or spiritual rites, filmed on five continents. At the heart of the film, more painful sequences (accompanied in particular by pieces of Dead Can Dance including The Host of Seraphim) show the destructive aspects of humanity such as misery or war. The end of the film is about spiritual sequences, including a sequence of ritual baths in the Ganges, Varanasi, India.
